| Fund raisers can be a variety of things. Many children and teen groups do carwashes to make money. In fact this has become kind of the cliché of fund raising. But fund raising can take many shapes. Many organizations have things donated to them; these things either help them immediately and are what they need, or they are things that the organization can auction off. For instance many people donate gift baskets to an organization and then the organization auctions it off at a silent auction, along with many other donated items. This is just one of the ways you can fund raise for your group or organization.
Fund raisers can also come in the form of full on dances. These dances usually have a silent auction attached, and the tickets are for a small fee. If you are planning one of these types of fund raisers, then I would consider looking for good entertainment and an excellent caterer. These are to impress your guests and keep them looking at the silent auction. Many vendors will offer a discount if you work for a charity organization, in fact some will even offer their services for free! |
