Pool parties are a great way to celebrate any type of special occasion including birthdays, anniversaries, a graduation or even bachelor party! Planning a pool party during the arm summer months is the perfect way to wind down and enjoy the heat. Whether it’s a planned event or a spur of the moment occurrence, a pool party is a wonderful way to spend time with friends or family.
The first thing you need to consider if you’re planning a pool party is safety, especially if children will be present. It’s easy to get caught up in the fun and let some things slip your mind so make sure you’re well prepared ahead of time in order to avoid accidents. First of all, it’s a good idea to have someone play lifeguard for the day, especially if there are little ones around. Make sure this person, or people, is/are skilled at swimming and know the basics of CPR. When a pool is involved, you’re always better safe than sorry. Another safety thing to consider is sunscreen. Make sure all kids are lathered up with at least SPF 15 in order to avoid any serious sunburns.
Other than making your pool party safe, making it fun is your next priority! With the right food, games and special touches, you’re sure to throw a pool party that you’re guests will love. Begin by considering food during your pool party. Will you be providing lunch or dinner for your guests? If so, do you want to have the party catered or simply BBQ some hot dogs and hamburgers for the whole gang? Of course another option is to have a pot-luck style party where each guest brings something. The next thing to consider is entertainment. You could just let everyone hang out in the pool relaxing or playing their own games. Or you could come up with some games ahead of time. For example everyone loves a pool volleyball game so why not set up a volleyball net in the pool and let everyone build their own teams. Whatever you have planned for your pool party, it’s sure to be a day to remember for you and your guests.
