John Nance is one of the best all around active Special Events entertainers in America.
Reconized as the top Mobile Disc Jockey in the Midwest his area of service includes; Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Eastern Missouri and Northern Kentucky.
Unlike the majority of Disc Jockeys John’s career in entertainment is a love affair of people, technology and music that started in grade school, spans over 4 decades including a diverse client base at more than 10,000 events in three continents.
In addition to being a great Disc Jockey / MC John is also an accomplished guitarist, vocalist, writer, arranger, producer with outstanding technical and communication skills that is reconized for his contributions and achievements in entertainment.
Accomplishments Include:
Performed professionally as a guitarist with adult entertainers on the nightclub circuit throughout Chicagoland since age 15.
Involved in Musical Productions, Stage and Performance Ensembles
Attended The University of Iowa majoring in Music (Voice)
Lead The Urban Crisis Band. Urban Crisis became one of the most notable bands in the Midwest and was signed by TK Records (K.C. & the Sunshine Band et al.), recording and releasing two singles “Spread Love Around” and “Sugar Man,” on the "Glades" Label.
Performed at The Watts Summer Music Festival with Urban Crisis in 1974
Started John Nance Entertainment In 1976 providing DJ services, sound reinforcement concert and event production.
Created "The Disco Machine,” a one of a kind professional DJ system that featured a portable neon light show.
Production relationships with some of the top recording studios in Chicago and Florida.
Designed lighting and sound systems for such notable venues as The Happy Medium, Schooners and others.
Produced and hosted the Local Origination Television Show MusicVision. MusicVision
Featured Chicagoland's top performing bands in a musical jukebox format MusicVision compared to The Chicago Sun Times and NBC News contrasted to then upstart MTV.
Later that year The National Federation of Local Cable TV Producers heralded as "The Hottest Local Origination Cable TV Program in America.
Celebrety Co-Host of The Variety Club Telethon on WGN TV
Lead guitarist, producer and arranger for Deon Jackson ("Love Makes The World Go 'Round") in his band Sunlight.
Design Development and Implementation of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for CEDA the largest private social service agency in the United States.
Catalyst behind “The Galleria – Evanston,” a multi facited entertainment and technology facility located in Evanston, Illinois.
Producer of the annual Evanston Music Reunion Festival a/k/a Evanstock
